Networking in 2009

The New Year is here and many look at this time of the year to make changes and to bring in new business. Have you taken a look at your networking skills? Have you thought of ways you can improve them? Not sure where to start? Follow some of my suggestions and you will be on your way to networking in 2009.

• Create a Blog - Write daily posts, helps with SEO
• Start a Mailing List - Collect customers emails with permission
• Sign up for Twitter - Post daily business activities
• Sign up for LinkedIn - Connect with other business professionals
• Use Squidoo - Create pages called lenses about your business
• Use Twitterfeed to help with your blog posts. A VERY handy tool!

All the above will help you to connect to other people and bring them to your website. When you sign up for a mailing list you can put a subscription box on your blog, website or Squidoo lenses to your newsletter or announcement list for people to sign up to receive your mailings, business specials or coupon offers.

One other suggestion create a PDF with information about a product or service and give advise on ways to use the product, service with additional tips. Then offer this for free. Free items that contain valuable educational information can spread on the Internet. Make sure your website and business information is easily found and you could get new visitors to your website.
